Stone laid for Padeni village
Padeni village, a joint project of Kadammanitta Bhagavathi Devaswom, Kadammanitta Gothrakala Kalari and the District Tourism Promotion Council will come up in Pathanamthitta District. Last month the Minister for Tourism, Mr. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan laid the foundation stone for the unique venture. The project would also receive assistance from the State Government and also the Kerala Tourism.
Once realized the Padeni village would strive to promote the age-old ritual of Padeni and would also provide facility to conduct research on various folk art forms. Museum, library, open air theatre, pond, mangrove, guest house and dormitory would form part of the Padeni village. The project will be implemented by Vasthuvidya Gurukulam, based in Aranmula.
