Mattancherry to have police station for tourists

Mattancherry is one among the places in Kochi frequented by tourists in large numbers. The recent move by the State Police Department to start a police station at Mattancherry would further add to the good times enjoyed by the tourists here. The upcoming police station, the construction work of which has already started would feature some of the latest facilities to cater to the tourists arriving at Mattancherry and the nearby Fort Kochi.

The police station coming up near the Synagogue will exclusively attend to requirements of the tourists. The police station will be manned by seven personnel, headed by a Sub-Inspector. They will be wearing blue colored uniform instead of the conventional kakhi. Personnel at this station will be trained in language and behavioural aspects, so as to equip them well for easy interaction with tourists.
