The Kerala Government recently gave the go ahead for 25 tourism projects in the state. According to the Minister for Tourism, Mr. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, sanction was given to tourism projects worth Rs. 220 million that are to be implemented in different parts of Kerala.
Among the projects are Kadinamkulam backwater circuit, Marutimala eco-tourism project, clean destination, Kovalam tourism zone waste management project, tourism clubs in high schools, and Dharmadam estuary development.
As part of heritage and cultural tourism, there will be projects coming up at Thakazhi, which will be in the form of a museum named after the famous Malayalam writer – Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai and the second stage renovation works at Pazhassi Gardens in Mattannoor.
