The Tourist Train, an initiative by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, will start from Thiruvananthapuram on January 15, 2009. The 15-day long journey will cover places like Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Ellora, Ajantha, Hyderabad, Pondicherry, Mahabalipuram, Chennai, Velankanni and Karaikkal.
