Enhancing the warmth of hospitality in Kerala

Surging ahead among destinations in India, Kerala has set for itself a clear-cut benchmark in the hospitality sector. Innovating with changing times by introducing fresh thoughts that translate into memorable experience, Kerala Tourism recently introduced a new scheme by which it aims to provide travellers the essence and flavour of Kerala homes.

Termed 'Kerala Serviced Villas,' the concept would provide comfortable accommodation facilities of high quality to tourists and would also supplement the availability of accommodation in various tourist destinations in Kerala.

Hotels and other supplementary accommodation are an integral part of Kerala's infrastructure, which are essential for tourism development. As the number of rooms available in the hotel sector in Kerala does not fully cater to the needs, the Government has explored possibilities to find other options and 'Serviced Villas' was one of the outcomes of that search.

Apart from providing a clean and affordable place of stay for tourists, the villas would offer a never-before-opportunity to experience authentic Kerala at its best. Those having independent, furnished and well-maintained homes can avail of this opportunity to be part of this one-of-a-kind owner-friendly scheme.

The sanction for running 'Serviced Villas' would come from an approval committee and the Department of Tourism will approve the establishment in accordance with the facilities provided. Besides, there will be an apex committee, to oversee the implementation of the scheme, to monitor the progress and to intervene if necessary.
