Airstrip at Bekal, Kasaragod
Bekal, a place of historic importance in Kerala and a popular tourist destination in Kasaragod district is poised for further enhancement of its current infrastructure. Bekal according to a recent government decision would soon have an airstrip ideal for 50-seater aircraft. The government of Kerala would construct this airstrip as part of its ongoing efforts to develop Bekal as an international tourist destination, said Mr. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Tourism Minister. This proposed airstrip would come up at Kariyamkundu in Periya village of Kasaragod.
