Aluva poised for added tourism potential
Aluva in Ernakulam District of Kerala is famous for its annual gathering of thousands during the
Karkidaka Vavu on the banks of the River Periyar to offer prayers and respects to the departed souls and also for the Shivaratri festival. This picturesque village holds good potential for tourism development in Kerala. Being the case Kerala Tourism has come up with a package to enhance the existing tourism potential of the place, which would be jointly implemented in association with the District Tourism Promotion Council.
The tourism projects on the anvil for Aluva are the renovation of Harithavanam Park at Manappuram; the beautification of Kundalakkadvu and the Parunthu Ranchi-Manappuram eco-tourism project. These projects were inaugurated on the 6th of October at a function held at the Aluva Sivaratri Manappuram Devaswon Hall by the Minister for Tourism, Mr. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.
