Beach Camp - the new KTDC resort at Bekal
The first resort by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) Hotels and Resorts in the Malabar region is going to come up at Bekal in Kasaragod district. Mr. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Tourism Minister recently inaugurated the work on the resort called Bekal Beach Camp. With 30 cottages, each resembling a tent the Beach Camp would offer the guests a spectacular view of the Bekal Fort and its surrounding areas.
The cottages are being set up on a two-hectare of land situated between the Bekal beach park and the Tsunami Park. KTDC has decided to use 'knock-down' technology to construct the cottages. In the first phase of the work, 20 cottages would be completed within five months. And in the second phase, another 10 cottages would come up besides a swimming pool. The Beach Camp will also have an Ayurveda centre.
