'Discover Kerala' - KTDC's new budget holiday package

Discover Kerala - a Budget Holiday package from Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC), ideally conceived for families encourages the new generation to explore the unseen beauty of Kerala. Recently launched by Minister for Tourism, Mr. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan in Thiruvananthapuram, the holiday package is a novel initiative, which unravels the unparalleled beauty and culture of Kerala to holidayers. The Budget Holiday packages are available with or without transportation and ranges from 4 nights to 12 nights. The packages come in categories like Utharayanam (exploring northern Kerala), Dakshinayanam (exploring southern Kerala) and Sundara Keralam (for the whole of Kerala).

Utharayanam literally means the northward journey of the sun and the package includes two circuits with 7 nights and 8 days to discover the beauty of northern Kerala. One circuit is from Kannur to Kochi and the other from Kochi to Kannur. This package covers the most popular destinations in north Kerala like Bekal, Parassinikadavu, Payyambalam, Muzhappilangad, Kuruva Island, Tholpetty, Edakkal Caves, Nilambur, Silent Valley, Athirapally, Kodanad and Kochi.

Dakishinayanam means the southward journey of the sun. This package also includes two circuits with 6 nights and 7 days to explore southern Kerala from Thiruvananthapuram to Kochi or from Kochi to Thiruvananthapuram. This package would take one through destinations like Kanyakumari, Padmanabhapuram Palace, Kovalam, Varkala, Konni, Thekkady, Peerumedu, Eravikulam, Munnar, Malayatoor and Kochi.

The Sundara Keralam package applies to the whole of Kerala, comprising 11 nights and 12 days with two circuits viz. Kanaykumari to Bekal and Bekal to Kanaykumari. Destinations coming under this package are Padmanabhapuram Palace, Thiruvananthapuram, Kovalam, Varkala, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kumarakom, Thekkady, Peerumedu, Kochi, Arthirapally, Guruvayoor, Thrissur, Silent Valley, Nilambur, Sulthan Bathery, Edakkal Caves, Muzhappilangad, Payyambalam, Parassinikadavu, Kannur, Kappil and Bekal.
