Houseboat terminal at Ashtamudi backwaters
The work on a spacious and beautiful houseboat terminal is nearing completion at the Ashtamudi backwaters, one of the major backwater stretches in south Kerala. A popular backwater destination in Kerala, Ashtamudi is located in Kollam district and is noted for its houseboat cruises. The new terminal coming up at Ashtamudi would have berthing space for twelve houseboats at a time. It is a two-storeyed terminal and comes with a tourist information centre, internet cafe, cloakroom and two dormitories. The beautification of nearby boat jetty and the adventure park has also been completed.
