Kappil Beach to get facelift

Gifted with some of the finest beaches in the country, Kerala is fast becoming the choicest destination for travellers around the world. Among them the Kappil Beach is fast gaining attention.

Recently Kerala Tourism decided to give a facelift to the beautiful Kappil beach by introducing a slew of developmental activities. A police assistance booth, pathways and paved areas, rain shelters, toilet blocks and a food court would form part of this development initiative, which would be launched in the near future.

Plans are also afoot for the establishment of a tourism circuit, connecting Ponnumthuruthu Island, situated at Anchuthengu (Anjengo) backwaters, Chilakkoor beach, Thiruvambady beach, Janaradhana Swami Temple and the Sivagiri Mutt (founded by the great social reformer and philosopher Sree Narayana Guru).

Kappil is a relatively lesser known beach in Kerala; yet, it has the potential that can match the other beaches in the state or perhaps even more. The beach is situated near Varkala, another famous beach destination in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala.
