Special Officers for the protection of tourism sector
Kerala Government has decided to appoint Special Officers for the protection and maintenance of its tourism sector. An ordinance has been released in this regard. The protection and development of the state's tourism sector comes under the Tourism Development Authority, which would have more than a dozen members including District Collectors and Members of the Legislative Assembly. The Special Officers will have the power to take appropriate action against encroachers, who have illegal possession of lands where tourism projects are taking place.
