Tourism Development Authority
For the exclusive purpose of conservation and protection of tourism sector, the government of Kerala has decided to constitute Tourism Development Authority (TDA). Once in place the TDA will be responsible for the conservation, preservation and planned development of special tourism zones.
TDA will also ensure that the development schemes implemented by institutions and individuals are in accordance with the schemes and directions approved by it. They can also make modifications in the development plans. TDA will have fourteen members including the Tourism Director, District Collector, members of the Legislative Assembly, Civic Chief and District Town Planner among others. For financial assistance, the authority would also maintain a Tourism Development Fund.
