Wayanad Monsoon Fest - The Splash is back again
Splash 2010 - organized by Wayanad Tourism Organization (WTO) during the southwest monsoon time in Kerala, is all set to take place in the hill district of Kerala's northern district Wayanad. This exciting monsoon revelry received enthusiastic participation during the previous year, and this time the event slated from July 9 to 11 would be no different as per the organizers.
This time around - Splash 2010 is looking forward to a gathering that would comprise travel writers, travel operators and leading names in India's travel fraternity and also guests from 30 prime resorts and hotels in Wayanad, high-profile day visitors from the neighbouring districts of Wayanad and celebrities from the film field, literature, sports and politics.
During the three-day event there will be both indoor as well as outdoor programs. Among the highlights of the indoor programs are
Keraleeyam, showcasing Kerala art forms by noted artistes on the inaugural day, followed by art forms of Wayanad and music and dance programs during the subsequent days.
And the variety of outdoor fun as part of Splash 2010 would have the participants entertained at places in and around various hamlets in Wayanad. River rafting, crab catching, treasure hunt, splash volleyball,
uriyadi (hitting the mud pot) paddy transplantation, splash football and climbing the slippery pole are some of them. Other outdoor activities that would keep the participants busy are cycling, bullock-cart ride, bamboo rafting, river crossing, elephant ride, archery demonstration and competition and trail walking.
