Tourist Amenity Centre at Ponmudi
With the help of the Forest Department, Kerala Tourism will construct a Tourist Amenity Centre at Ponmudi, the major hill station in Thiruvananthapuram, said Mr. A. P. Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism. Apart from the amenity centre, Kerala Tourism has proposed plans for the development and beautification of the whole destination. The plans for the development of Ponmudi will be carried out with the help of Central Government and the State Forest Department.
The Upper Sanatorium area at Ponmudi will be developed with special facilities for visitors. Kerala Tourism also has plans for constructing a ropeway for sightseeing here. More personnel will be allotted to Ponmudi Police Station, said Mr. Anilkumar.
