India International Aqua Show 2012 (IIAS 2012)

The India International Aqua Show (IIAS) is a biennial international exhibition of ornamental fishes and accessories organized jointly by Government of Kerala and Government of India. The next edition of IIAS 2012 will be held from February 10 to 14 at Kochi in Kerala.

IIAS 2012 aims to encourage hobbyists, breeders and entrepreneurs in the field and will provide a forum for exchange of views and interaction of ornamental fish breeders and traders apart from creating a platform for sales initiatives. The five-day long event is expected to attract exhibitors, breeders, traders and visitors within India as well as outside. A rich variety of ornamental fish and accessories clustering under one roof creates the unique opportunity for exhibiting and marketing.

IIAS 2012 is organized by the Department of Fisheries, Government of Kerala through the State Fisheries Management Society (FIRMA) in association with the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. IIAS 2012 is supported by Kerala Aqua Ventures International Limited (KAVIL) and National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB).

The Ornamental fish has become an important component in international trade and has a significant role in the economy of developing countries like India. Both Govt. of India and Govt. of Kerala have initiated several steps to popularize aquaculture, including ornamental fisheries.
