High demand for trained hands in tourism

Global Tourism is reviving fast from the economic recession, which is reflected in the overwhelming participation of tourism companies for selecting qualified personnel at the campus placement that was organized at the Kerala Institute of travel and Tourism Studies (KITTS) during the first week of February of this year.

KITTS, a major supplier of trained candidates, arrange campus placements in different phases during February-March every year to enable the industry to select most suitable candidates for meeting their specific requirements. The institute focuses on the all-round development of students by providing adequate support for personality development and communication in English, German, French and Hindi languages.

The two year MBA course at KITTS has an innovative curriculum combining tourism and management papers. The teaching methodology encompasses case study, discussion, presentation, assignment, project work and industry exposure. KITTS has always been one of the premier educational institutes in the country and its alumni working across the world.

KITTS offer venues for placement to companies operating in the country in different phases, so that they can choose the best and suitable candidates for meeting the industry's specific requirements. This year's placement season started with Thomas Cook India Ltd. followed by Orbit Corporate and Leisure Travels Ltd, Tirun Travel (International agent of Royal Caribbean Cruises) and Executive Events. Already more than 20 students out of the 50 outgoing MBA students have been placed in these companies in the management position. All the companies participated in the campus recruitment have expressed their satisfaction over the quality of students and are hopeful in recruiting more numbers. It is hoped that 100% of the students will be getting campus placement during this year.
