The Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) Hotels and Resorts recently organized a traditional food festival at 25 prominent centres all over the state. Held at the Mascot hotel in Thiruvananthapuram, the food festival was inaugurated by the Minister for Tourism, Mr. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. The festival turned out to be an opportunity, especially for tourists to taste Kerala's unique culinary delights.
Prepared without adding any artificial ingredients for enhancing the taste or colour and with less oily dishes, the festival attracted a lot of visitors. The dishes that had more takers included a variety of seafood and Pearl-spot, the backwater delicacy of Kerala. Among the Kuttanad and Malabar dishes, Appam and Pathiri were served with different types of chicken and beef dishes and fish curries with tapioca.
