Roadshows to attract Scandinavian tourists

To invite the attention of more tourists from the Scandinavian region, Kerala Tourism unfolded a captivating range of products in the roadshows held in the region. The Scandinavian region that survived the economic crisis in Europe is an emerging market for Kerala Tourism.

The roadshows were attended by a large number of stakeholders, paving way for new business ties with the Kerala-based entrepreneurs who took part in the shows. The industry there showed keen interest in tapping the latest offers from Kerala.

The highly successful campaign held in Australia last month encouraged Kerala Tourism to conduct a series of roadshows in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland last month to tap these emerging markets. Through presentations, documentaries and trade interactions, these roadshows displayed a virtual tapestry of 'God's Own Country.'

"The response from the trade fraternity in these countries was tremendous and these shows are turning out as the right catalysts for the growth of tourism in the forthcoming days," said Mr. T. K. Manoj Kumar, Secretary, Kerala Tourism, who led the delegation to the Scandinavian countries.

'Go Kerala' contests were also held in partnership with Jet Airways in the Scandinavian countries. A fully paid Kerala holiday, including flight and hospitality was offered to the winners. Kerala trade also offered Ayurveda packages as consolation prizes to the winners in Finland and Sweden.
