Safari buses in Gavi

The name Gavi invokes images of nature at its pristine beauty. Those who come to Gavi from next time onwards can explore this eco-tourism site in wildlife safari buses. Situated in Pathanamthitta district, Gavi Eco-tourism, a project of the Kerala Forest Department, is one of the favourite ecotourism destinations which attract nature lovers and adventure tourists.

The introduction of wildlife safari buses in Gavi will help restrict the movement of private vehicles to Gavi, passing through the core habitat of the Periyar Tiger Reserve. The number of tourists in safari buses is restricted to 100 each from both routes- Angamuzhi and Vallakadavu.

Besides these open buses which will help the tourist to get a better view of the forest, jeeps will also be introduced in this route for serving more tourists. Managed by the members of Eco Development Committee (EDC), the jeep service will be introduced from Ranni to Gavi.
