Sargalaya - art village at Iringal, Kozhikode

Sargalaya, the art and craft village at Iringal designed to strengthen the handicraft expertise of Kerala was recently inaugurated by Mr. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Minister for Tourism. Also known as Iringal Art and Craft Village, Sargalaya is a project of Kerala Tourism, which is the first of its kind in the State.

Sargalaya will provide opportunities for artisans' facilities for creating handicrafts items, showcasing their skills and also to market their products. Situated on the banks of the Moorad River on a 20-acre land in Kozhikode, this village currently has 32 cottages meant for about 100 artisans to stay and work at a time.
