Kerala Tourism has won the prestigious CNBC Awaaz Travel Award for 'Best Travel and Tourism State' for 2012.
"The award is a recognition to the combined efforts of private and public sectors in the travel and tourism industry of Kerala which helped in positioning the state as the best destination for domestic and foreign tourists," said Mr. Suman Billa, Secretary, Kerala Tourism, after receiving the award from Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, at a function held in Srinagar recently.
The CNBC Awaaz Travel Awards are given for the best organisations and individuals who champion tourism activities in the country. Kerala Tourism had earlier won the CNBC Awards for the 'Most Preferred Destination' in 2010 and 'Best Tourism Board' in 2011.
