Cruise season picks up momentum in Kerala

The arrival of the Bahamas flagged luxury cruise liner Explorer ISE, kicked off this year's cruise season in Kerala. The cruise liner was received at the cruise terminal, which is now fully equipped to take care of customs and immigration clearance of foreign tourists. The port authority has made all arrangements to make sure that passengers arriving here are not put to any inconvenience.

Next to make a port of call at Kochi was Costa Deliziosa the cruise liner from Italy with more than 2164 passengers and 890 crew members. The other luxury liners that reached Kochi were Discovery and a Bermuda-flagged cruise liner and the biggest among them was Aida Diva.

The arrival of these many cruise liners to Kochi underlines the importance of Kochi as a major cruise tourism destination in South Asia. The Italian vessel, Aida Diva arrived with 2004 passengers. The Seven Seas Voyager, another luxury vessel also arrived at Kochi with 660 tourists onboard.
