Logo of GKSF Season-6 released

Mr. A. P. Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism, released the official logo of Grand Kerala Shopping Festival Season-VI at a glittering function held in the capital recently. The registration for merchant establishments (MEs) was also inaugurated at the function.

Addressing the function Mr. Anilkumar said that the festival has emerged as a major event in the state. "GKSF, a second shopping season after Onam, is not just an event of the government or the business community, but of the entire society," he said. He also sought support and cooperation from all quarters for making the event a success.

The function also witnessed the inking of an MoU between GKSF Directorate and Akshaya, an IT arm of the State Government. The MoU signed by Mr. U. V. Jose, Director of GKSF and Mr. Bala Kiran, Director of Akshaya, facilitates online ME registration through the 1000 centres of Akshaya in the state, besides the facility on the GKSF website.

The sixth edition of GKSF, touted to be Asia's largest shopping festival, will be held from 15th December 2012 to 31st January 2013 across the state of Kerala. An array of attractive prizes, including 101 kg of gold, sponsored gifts and discount coupons await the shoppers. The mega prize is 1 kg of gold for one person and half-a-kg gold for two persons.

Other highlights of the upcoming edition are free registration for merchant establishments in the general category and 'global village', a mega trade show in Kochi.
