First phase of Idukki tourism project completed

To relish the beauty of the Idukki reservoir and the wildlife sanctuary, the first phase of the Idukki tourism project of the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), Idukki has been completed with a pathway, a pavilion and an open theatre. A parking area, comfort station and an eatery is also part of the open theatre.

The second stage of the project is in front of the Idukki Arch Dam. The DTPC, Iduuki has decided to develop Cheruthoni as an eco-friendly tourism site in its second stage of development. Cheruthoni lies between Munnar and Thekkady, the two main tourist spots in the district. Most of the tourists select Cheruthoni as a stop-over.
