State tourism awards presented
Mr. Oommen Chandy, Chief Minister of Kerala recently gave away the 2010-11 Kerala State Tourism Awards at a function presided over by Mr. A. P. Anilkumar, Minister, Kerala Tourism. "The State's tourism sector has great potential for development and there are several tourism spots, which are yet to be explored," the Chief Minister said after distributing the awards.
"The government has been taking steps to improve infrastructure facilities in the tourism sector in an organized and systematic manner. 'Emerging Kerala 2012' is a global investor meet that is well poised to provide a boost to the tourism sector of Kerala," said Mr. Oommen Chandy. Potential tourism projects will be showcased during this mega event slated to be held in September 2012. The Chief Minister gave away 22 awards for excellence in tourism.
