KITTS shines in silver jubilee glory
The Kerala Institute of Tourism and Travel Studies (KITTS), a pioneer institution providing quality manpower for the travel and tourism industry, has kick-started its yearlong silver jubilee celebrations. Mr. A. P. Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism, inaugurated the silver jubilee celebrations recently in the capital.
"KITTS should emerge as an apex centre monitoring institutes that groom professionals for the hospitality industry," said the minister. The function also witnessed KITTS launching a series of courses and exchange programmes for students and faculty through tie-ups with Leeds University, UK, and Santiago University, California. The institution also initiated steps for affiliation with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN-WTO). Business sessions and seminars will also be held as part of the jubilee fete.
KITTS now offers a two-year MBA course, affiliated to the Kerala University, as well as various PG Diploma courses. The institute has emerged as a recognized centre of IATA, to conduct internationally acclaimed examinations and for awarding certificates in public relations and tourism, event management, airport operation, spa management, branding and logistics. A promotional film titled 'KITTS-Touching New Skies' was also released at the function.
