KERALA TOURISM NEWSLETTER
Skill development training programme at KITTS
Chief Minister Sri. Oommen Chandy recently launched the skill development training programme in tourism and hospitality industry of the Kerala Institute of Travel and Tourism Studies (KITTS).
"The Kerala Government is committed to ensure the availability of trained, talented and able HR professionals to supplement the developmental requirements of Kerala," said the Chief Minister.
The younger generation often lags behind in converting the advantages of education into practical situations. For this, short-term finishing skills will be the most ideal means. To fill the lacuna, the State government will implement several measures in association with various Central government agencies.
"In the twelfth five-year plan, Government of India has given prime importance for skill development across the country. Kerala will be associating with innovative agencies like the National Skill Development Centre in tapping this opportunity to the advantage of the State," the Chief Minister added.
Mr. A. P. Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism, Kerala, launched the new website of KITTS -
www.kittsedu.org and also distributed placement brochure of the MBA (Travel & Tourism) students. "The Department of Tourism will take initiatives to train HR professionals having preliminary exposure at all levels to meet the industry demands in Kerala" said Mr. A. P. Anilkumar.
Certificates for students who have completed studies in the VHSE Finishing School co-ordinated by KITTS were distributed at the function.
