Tourism projects showcased at Emerging Kerala 2012

Signaling Kerala's intention to become a front-ranking economic powerhouse of the nation, Emerging Kerala 2012 - Global connect meet was inaugurated by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in Kochi recently. Emerging Kerala was a global meet aimed to make Kerala a premier global hub of economic activity, through fostering entrepreneurship for an equitable socio-economic growth.

Tourism, one of the vibrant and significant contributors to the sustainable development of the State also showcased its projects at the meet. The meet presented Kerala as a visible global brand in domestic and international markets.

The projects presented were Sea Plane Services; Adventure Sports Enclave at Muzhuppilangad in Kannur; Adventure Sports Zone and Backwater Resort at Kappil; Eco Campsites at Kakkayam in Kozhikode; Eco Resort and Convention Centre at Karappuzha, Wayanad; Heritage Cruises, Hop-on-Hop off Boats at Kochi; Inland Luxury Cruise in Kerala; Laser Light Show at Punnamada in Alappuzha; Orchidarium at Peruvannamoozhi; Recreation of Heritage Ropeway at Munnar; Ropeway connecting Akkulam and Veli in Thiruvananthapuram and Water Taxi Services.
