Kerala Tourism recently held amazing road shows in three European cities to invite their residents to holiday in Kerala and to escape the winter chill. The road shows were held in the Belgium capital of Brussels, Lyon in France and Rome.
Mr. A.P. Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism, Kerala, who led the Kerala delegation said the enthusing response to the events were proof for the state's popularity among the Europeans. The minister later said Kerala Tourism would launch new programmes to exploit the market better. "Emphasis will be on environmentally sustainable projects and responsible tourism," he said.
The events at Brussels and Lyon were attended by around 90 potential buyers each while 86 buyers visited the Italian edition. Ms. Rani George, Director, Kerala Tourism who made presentations at the events hoped more visitor turnout from Europe in the future.
"Our history and heritage are opening up new avenues for tourism. For visitors from Europe and from elsewhere, these will offer new ways to discover and explore Kerala," said Tourism Director.
The trade participants from the state included Ayurveda Mana, CGH Earth, Eastend Hospitality, Hi Tours, Intersight Tours & Travels, Oriental Routes, Pepper Tours, Pioneer Personalized Holidays, Somatheeram Ayurveda Group, SITA, Spiceland Holidays & Entertainments, The Blue Yonder, Kumarakom Lake Resort and Vythiri Resort.
