The Kerala pavilion themed on Ayurveda turned a big hit at the recently concluded ITB Berlin, world's largest tourism trade show. 23 trade partners from the state attended the event which is attended by travel trade partners of various countries every year.

Minister of State (Tourism), Government of India, Mr. K. Chiranjeevi visited the pavilion, which is built over an area of 128 square metres. "I will visit Kerala soon," Mr. Chiranjeevi told the Kerala Tourism delegation headed Mr. A. P. Anilkumar, Minister, Kerala Tourism.

The stand had free Ayurveda consultation by an expert physician and free massage, apart from display of medicines and herbs to attract the visitors.

"We are presenting Kerala's highly regarded tradition of Ayurveda to the world here in Berlin," said Mr. Anilkumar. "Because of the wide-ranging remedies offered by it, Ayurveda is as much a brand in Kerala today as the state's backwaters, beaches and hill stations," he added.

"Kerala's Ayurveda is known around the globe for its astounding benefits, in terms of both wellness and cure. The ITB Berlin is an ideal platform to inform the world further about this time-tested tradition and the high-quality Ayurveda treatment facilities available in the state," said Mr. Suman Billa, Secretary, Kerala Tourism.

"Kerala Tourism and our partners in government and private sectors have worked hard in the past several years to ensure a high quality delivery of Ayurveda facilities in state," said Ms. Rani George, Director, Kerala Tourism.
