Kerala Tourism will establish more development oriented projects in the northern districts of the State, said Mr. A. P. Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism while inaugurating a tourism project at Payamkuttymala near Vadakara in the north Malabar region. A watchtower, telescope and drinking water facility for tourists visiting Payamkuttymala have become functional as part of the project.
Payamkuttymala is one of the less explored hill destinations in Kozhikode district. To facilitate an eco-friendly development in Payamkuttymala, Kerala Tourism has planned a second phase of development activities in the region.
"The hillock now attracts domestic and international tourists and the Payamkuttymala project would be further developed and extended to Lokanarkavu," said Mr. A. P. Anilkumar.
