Tourists from Finland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Laos, Myanmar and Indonesia visiting Kerala can from now on get tourist visa-on-arrival (T-VoA) at Thiruvananthapuram and Cochin international airports. Exclusive visa desks have been arranged in these airports for T-VoA. A holding area has been made in the immigration area, special enclosure for photographing, foreign exchange counter, signage and display, and telephone connections are ready at these airports. Intelligence Bureau (IB) of India will operate these exclusive visa desks.
Launched at the initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, T-VoA will increase the number of foreign tourists visiting the country.
A tourist can get a T-VoA with a maximum validity of 30 days. The objective of the visit should only be recreation, sightseeing, meeting friends or relatives. No other purpose or activity will be allowed. Those applying for the visa should not have residence or occupation in India and should hold a passport with a minimum validity of six months.
