As part of a campaign to promote Kerala in the domestic market, Mr. P. I. Sheik Pareeth, Director, Kerala Tourism and Mr. Manoj Dharmani, Vice President, Sales and Marketing of GoAir, an Indian airliner has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to offer exclusive discounted fares to tourists visiting Kerala.
“Tourists can book discounted GoAir tickets through 42 approved trade partners. This arrangement is expected to benefit both parties and we hope more airlines will come forward to have an agreement with us, as it is going to be a win-win situation for both,” said Mr. A. P. Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism, Kerala.
The discounted fares are available for bookings from September 1 through tour operators accredited by Kerala Tourism. Initially, the scheme will continue till January 2015. Packages can be booked exclusively from www.keralatourism.org where details of accredited tour operators are available. The initial fares operated through the tour operators will be cheaper by 20 per cent.
Kerala Tourism is trying to make the existing relation between aviation and tourism industries more productive to attract travellers to the State. There was already an agreement with Jet Airways, which brings in tourists to Kerala at discounted rates.
