Kottakkunnu to become international tourist destination

Modelled on Sentosa Park of Singapore, Kottakkunnu will be upgraded to international standards. It is a popular hangout situated in the heart of Malappuram town.

“We want to make Kottakkunnu a window to Malabar’s tourism,” said Mr. A. P. Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism, Kerala, after accepting the Rs.1000 million master plan for Kottakkunnu developed by Kerala Tourism.

The major highlight of the project will be a laser show. A sky tower, cable car, adventure park, traffic park, fun zone for children, 7-D theatre, food park, amusement park, conference hall, shopping bazaar, herbal garden and an aquarium will form part of the project.

Elevation of Kottakkunnu into an international tourist destination is intended to attract more tourists and the facilities here will be developed in such a way that tourists will be able to stay the whole day and night at Kottakkunnu. The District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), Malappuram will be spearheading the developmental works at Kottakkunnu.
