Kerala Tourism Enters Fresh Pastures

Kerala Tourism has won hearts across Australia and New Zealand with the phenomenal success of the roadshows it hosted there recently.

“Both Australia and New Zealand represent a vast market for Kerala because of the high percentage of its residents willing to travel and experience new destinations across the world. Kerala is a perfect holiday destination for them. These roadshows evoked a great deal of interest among the local travel and tour industry and media. That is a good sign for our tourism industry,” said Mr. Suman Billa, Secretary, Kerala Tourism, who led the delegation comprising industry representatives from the State.

Kerala Tourism’s visa-on-arrival facility for the citizens of New Zealand added strength to the promotional campaign in Auckland. Both nations are fast-growing markets for Kerala Tourism with the number of visitors to Kerala from Australia and New Zealand rising up by 60% and 68% respectively in the last four years.

A grand prize given to one lucky winner in each of the cities was another highlight of the road-shows. Winners from Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland, each won a seven-night trip for two to Kerala.
