Kerala Tourism sanctions development projects
Kerala Tourism has sanctioned various projects for the development of tourism in the State. Mr. A. P. Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism, Kerala said in a press-release that Rs. 5.3 million has been provided for the marketing of Tourist Visa on Arrival (T-VoA) through social media.
For developmental works at the finishing point of the Nehru Trophy Boat Race in Alappuzha, Rs. 48 million has been allocated. A sum of Rs. 2.5 million has been granted for Kerala Tourism’s participation in the Berlin Tourism Fair and Rs. 3.5 million for organising road-shows in the metro cities of India.
For the empowerment of Responsible Tourism (RT), assistance of Rs. 1.5 million and for the maintenance of the Muziris Heritage Project Rs. 10.8 million has been sanctioned. As part of the Muziris Spice Route Project, Kerala Tourism had approved the project for lighting and installing furniture at the Kunjikuttan Thampuran Memorial Government (KKTM) College situated in Kodungalloor. And for setting up of a musical fountain and multimedia show at Kottakkunnu in Malappuram, Rs. 20.5 million has been allocated.
