Kerala Tourism has bagged the State Planning Board’s award for the Best Performance in the implementation of Annual Plan 2013-2014.
It has secured the first rank under category (III) for timely monitoring and completion of its projects. Category (III) includes around 120 departments and implementing agencies, which have a budget allocation of Rs. 3000 million.
“The award is recognition for the efforts and hard work of the Kerala Tourism officials and we are extremely proud to receive this,” said Mr. A.P. Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism, Kerala.
This is the inaugural award instituted by the State Planning Board for the most efficient department in fund utilisation. The award consists of a cash prize of Rs 0.5 million, memento and citation.
Mr. K. M. Mani, Minister for Finance, Law and Housing, Kerala, presented the award to Mr. P. I. Sheik Pareeth, Director, Kerala Tourism in the presence of Mr. Oommen Chandy, Chief Minister, Kerala.
Mr. G Kamala Vardhana Rao , Secretary, Kerala Tourism noted that Kerala Tourism has stood out for its good work in the past few years and this award is further proof of this.
“The cash will be utilised for the modernisation and strengthening of Kerala Tourism,” said Mr. P. I. Sheik Pareeth, Director, Kerala Tourism.
