Peerapol Chawchiangkwang of Thailand has won the championship in the third edition of the mountain biking challenge, MTB Kerala, 2015, which was held at the Priyadarshini Tea Estate at Pancharakkolly, near Mananthavady on 18 April. Roman Van Uden of New Zealand was the runner-up and Surban Nino of Philippine took the third position.
Devender Kumar of Himachal Pradesh bagged the championship at the national level and K. Kiran Kumar Raju of Karnataka was the runner-up, while Ramesh Chandra Joshi of Indian Army finished third. Twenty-two international riders have participated in the third edition of the MTB Kerala 2015 organised by the Kerala Adventure Tourism Promotion Society (KATPS), an initiative of Kerala Tourism.
MTB Kerala aims to invite the attention of tourists, travellers and adventure-seekers across the globe to scale and explore the prospects of adventure in the green pastures of God's Own Country. MTB 2015 has remarkably demonstrated that Kerala has much more to offer than swaying coconut palms, sensuous beaches and alluring emerald backwaters. With the huge success of all three editions of mountain biking, MTB Kerala has become a flagship event in the adventure tourism scenario of the State, marked by loads of thrill, fun and competition.
