Development of Sustainable Eco-tourism Models
The master plan recently submitted by Environmental Infrastructure and Services Ltd. pertaining to the development of three eco-tourism destinations will be considered by the Kozhikode district administration. Prepared on behalf of Kerala Tourism, the plan focuses on the development of the Kakkayam, Peruvannamoozhi, and Janakikkad eco-tourism centres in the district.
The master plan has concepts to tap the farm tourism potential in the eco-tourism destinations and for a boating facility in the Peruvannamoozhi reservoir area to generate additional revenue amongst others. Responsible Tourism initiatives will also be popularised.
