A State Tourism Investment Promotion Board will be formed with the Chief Minister as Chairman to attract more investment to the tourism sector.
Chief Minister of Kerala, Mr. Oommen Chandy said that the Cabinet had given its approval for the same and that the Minister for Tourism would be the Vice Chairman and the Secretary, Kerala Tourism, the convener of this newly formed board. The other members on the board include the ministers for Finance, Revenue, Industries, Health, and Agriculture.
The Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of Tourism; Principal Secretary, Finance; Secretaries of Industries and Health; Director, Kerala Tourism; leading banks; and other representatives of the tourism trade would also form part of the board.
