Kerala Tourism's sustained creative efforts to communicate with a worldwide audience about its tourism products have won it the 'Most Outstanding Marketing Campaign Award’ for 2014 instituted by the Travel and Hospitality magazine.
“We are honoured to receive the top award for interacting with the people in a creative and effective way to promote our State as a travel destination. The award will certainly help to elevate Kerala’s status in the national and international tourism market,” said Mr. A. P. Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism, Kerala.
Kerala Tourism has followed unique marketing strategies like the branding of the Mumbai Metro Train and theme branding of the hop-on and hop-off boats and water taxis in Kochi. The Great Backwaters Campaign launched last year won the ITB-Berlin’s Golden City Gate Gold Award, which is considered to be the Oscar of Tourism Communications.
Mr. P. I. Sheik Pareeth, Director, Kerala Tourism described the award as an acknowledgement of the efforts in promoting the State's destinations worldwide. “It is recognition of Kerala's tourism sector and an encouragement to excel further,” he added.
