Muziris Heritage Project launched

The Muziris Heritage Project has been officially launched by the Hon’ble President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee at the International Research & Convention Centre, KKTM College, Kodungalloor.

Muziris, the ancient port city that played host to the Phoenicians, Egyptians, Arabs, Greeks and Romans, was also the hub of the famed ‘Spice Route’. This legendary port city is now coming alive through the Muziris Heritage Project, a landmark project of Kerala Tourism.

The project comprises unique museums and several historic heritage sites, spread across two districts. It also gains significance as it is closely linked to the ‘Spice Route’ initiative, also a project of Kerala Tourism that was launched with the support of UNESCO to revive Kerala's age-old trade ties with 41 countries across the world. The initiative is expected to give a boost to Heritage Tourism as well.
