Kerala Tourism to Refresh Brand

Kerala Tourism has worked out a slew of initiatives to refresh the brand, in order to make it more appealing and desirable to all segments. As part of this, steps will be launched to improve air connectivity from key source markets and from domestic airports across the country to international airports at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode.

“Steps to revive chartered flights have commenced and we are in touch with the stakeholders to find out the viability of the operations,” Mr. U.V. Jose, Director, Kerala Tourism said.

The State government intends to step in for bringing chartered flights from Russia and United Kingdom and chartered tourist trains from Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad to increase tourist footfalls. Separate coaches will be made available in long-distance trains coming to Kerala.

Kerala Tourism has also chalked out plans to attract adventure tourists, short- duration visitors, extended weekend travellers, and honeymoon couples. A digital campaign to attract new generation travellers, including students, youngsters, artistes, and professionals is also in the pipeline.
