In its bid to increase the number of tourist footfalls and lure youth and families to the State, Kerala Tourism is launching a slew of action-oriented activities and showcase Kerala as a hub of adventure sports.
At present adventure tourism parks have been set up in Thenmala (Kollam), Karlad Lake (Wayanad), Veli tourist village (Thiruvananthapuram), Ashramam (Kollam) and so forth. Water-based activities will be given prominence in the list of adventure sports planned by Kerala Tourism.
Trekking, adventure sports, kayaking, scuba diving, paragliding and safari figure in the activity-oriented initiatives planned.
