Adding another feather to its cap, Kerala Tourism has bagged the Readers' Choice Award for Best Destination in the Wellness and Spirituality category at the Outlook Traveller Awards, 2017. Mr. P. Bala Kiran IAS, Director, Kerala Tourism, received the award from Indranil Roy, Executive Director, Outlook Group in New Delhi. The winners in each category were selected by the readers through an online poll on outlookindia.com.
“It’s a huge honour to receive an award which magnifies the efforts of our tourism department to be the favourite destination among the travellers who chose Kerala to be the best destination for Spirituality and Wellness. This award is also a motivation to excel in the projects we have been planning for the upcoming years,” said Mr. Kadakampally Surendran, Minister for Tourism, Government of Kerala.
Dr. V. Venu, Principal Secretary, Kerala Tourism, said that Kerala Tourism is always keen on implementing new ideas and projects to transform the state into a world-class destination. “Prestigious awards like these are an inspiration to take up new initiatives which will further enhance our projects to provide a best-in-class experience in the future as well,” he added.
Expressing his delight over receiving the award Mr. P. Bala Kiran IAS, Director, Kerala Tourism, said that Kerala Tourism has always laid great emphasis in promoting the essence of wellness and spirituality in the state. “The award is a motivation for us to focus on the best performing sub-sectors and to keep up our efforts to maintain the momentum”, he added.
Outlook Traveller Awards are presented by the Outlook group every year for the best performance in various categories in the travel and tourism industry in India and abroad.
