A Bicycle Ride for Kerala's Travel Sector

Published in Newsletter Issue No. 329 - January 2021

To popularise travel and tourism in the state of Kerala, a pair of young women began a bicycle expedition from Poovar in Thiruvananthapuram on December 7, 2020. The bicycle enthusiasts, Parvathy and Meera set out with the aim of visiting 17 tourism destinations across Kerala in order to promote the tourism sector in the state during the trying times of the pandemic.

The tour titled 'Wonder of Kerala - by Charlie’s Angels' is an expedition envisaged to promote travel at a time when the pandemic has affected the tourism sector badly across the country. The aim is to give a boost to tourism in the state and create awareness among the travellers that the tourism destinations in Kerala are open for travellers to visit, and that the hotels are safe to stay in.

The initiative was supported by other travel organisations including Kerala Travel Mart. The ride was supported by Citrine Hospitality in association with 1913 PIX Entertainment and Metro Media.
