Kerala Tourism to Conduct 'Utsavam' in February

Kerala Tourism is gearing up to conduct its most famous annual traditional arts festival ‘Utsavam’ in February. Exponents and troupes of folk, tribal and ritualistic art forms will take part in the festival, to be held in all districts. Utsavam will feature a wide range of tribal and folk arts and see seasoned artistes perform in their authentic styles. The event is aimed at sustaining and popularising the traditional art forms of the state, some of which are on the verge of decline.

The one-week festival will be held in two venues in all the districts of the state. Each venue will host two art performances in a day. More than 100 participants have already submitted their application for participating in the festival. The artists will be selected by a committee and get to perform at the much-awaited annual festival. The programme is being jointly conducted by Kerala Tourism and District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC).
