KTDC Offers Two Properties for Covid Care

Published in Newsletter Issue No. 334 - June 2021

Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) has offered its two premium properties to be converted into Covid-19-care centres by private hospitals.

At a time when finding a bed for a Covid-19 patient in a hospital a difficult task, the KTDC has offered Bolgatty Palace, Kochi, and Grand Chaithram in Thiruvananthapuram for providing much-needed relief to the needy.

The KTDC had floated an Expression of Interest (EoI) for converting the properties temporarily to Covid-care units. The hospitals, taking over the properties, would have to take care of the cleaning of rooms and corridors, sanitizing procedures and garbage disposal.

Last year, the KTDC had provided quarantine packages for those coming from elsewhere in the state. All the properties were in demand by people coming from outside the state and country too, during the nationwide lockdown last year.

This time, the two properties will be useful to those who want to stay away from their families while in quarantine.
