Kerala Tourism Documentary wins National Award for best narration
A documentary produced by Invis Multimedia Private Limited for Kerala Tourism has won the 68th National Award for Best Narration Voiceover. Ms Shobha Tharoor Sreenivasan was the commentator for the film titled 'Rhapsody of Rains - Monsoons of Kerala' directed by Siraj Shah and produced by Invis Multimedia. The film was scripted by Dr Meena T. Pillai and Mr M. R. Hari.
Ms Shobha Sreenivasan is a writer of children's fiction, poet, editor, and voice-over talent. Sister of Shashi Tharoor, MP, she is the author of numerous award-winning children's books, including Indi-Alphabet and How Many Lines in a Limerick? Ms Sreenivasan was the model for Amul’s face, the cute little girl seen in the brand’s advertisements of yesteryears.
The 20-minute documentary captures the journey of rains from the Western Ghats to its impact on the lives of people. The various expressions of rain and the myths, festivals, and beliefs revolving around it are portrayed in the documentary. It took around five years for Mr Shah and the team to shoot various aspects of the monsoon, for which they travelled all across the state.
